Our countries talk a good game about treasuring the war veterans who serve on behalf of all of us. But as with anything, what really counts is what we DO once the heart-warming media images of returning vets fade from view and the soldier returns to "normal" life.
And as this study out of the U.S. shows, the love doesn't appear to last long south of the border, where military veterans are more likely than any other group to end up homeless.

I read the study and wasn't surprized.
The American government and their corporations have little or no use for people once they have served their purpose.
They consider them expendable.
Americans like to think of themselves as the home of the brave and the free but I don't see it. There is no bravery involved in letting your countries solders live in the streets and they certainly aren't free to live in a civilized manner. They are living on the edges of society.
The American governments should take some time to look after their own people instead of going around the world creating cahos and offering advise to countries who haven't asked for it.
If things continue as they are in the U.S.A. some day we will see an Egyptian style change in the US.A.
